For decades, homeowners looking to insulate their properties have almost automatically chosen glass wool or stone wool. The mood is now shifting: cork, a natural raw material from the Mediterranean, is moving into the spotlight and providing serious competition for conventional insulation materials. Many people know cork only as a bottle stopper or flooring material. Yet it has long been suitable as a fully fledged insulation product.
