Sales of the new Mijia Washing Machine Drum 10Kg Ultra-thin Fully Embedded have begun in China. The new washing machine is priced at just 1,200 yuan (£130).

At only 516 mm deep, the appliance is designed for easy installation within fitted furniture or recessed spaces. Despite its slim cabinet, it accommodates up to 10 kg of laundry.

It features a 525 mm-diameter drum and offers 24 dedicated washing and fabric-care programmes. The company says it can tackle 35 types of stubborn stains. The machine uses a direct-drive motor; the washer has a three-year warranty, while the motor is covered for 10 years.

Smart home controls and AIoT scenarios

The new model integrates with Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem and can be controlled through smart speakers or a mobile app. It also supports AIoT scenarios: once a wash cycle is complete, for example, the Xiao Ai voice assistant can remind users about the laundry, lower a drying rack automatically and switch on the lights to make hanging clothes easier.
